Five minutes is a practice

By Lika Barak · July 2026

Most people quit meditation not because it does not work, but because they set the bar at thirty minutes and missed four days in a row.

We teach five. Five minutes, same chair, same time, before the phone. Five minutes is small enough that you cannot reasonably argue with it, and long enough that the nervous system notices.

Consistency is a smaller ask than intensity, and it pays better.

After a month, extend it only if you want to. Most people do, and by then it is not discipline — it is preference.
